Online English lessons for ages 10 to 12
At this age, your child may have plenty to say but still search for the English to say it. I make space for their ideas and adapt the level, pace and activities to what they need next.
Move from a short answer to an idea
A hobby, a favourite story or an everyday decision can open a conversation. A child might begin with “I prefer…” and add a reason, or describe something while I help them find a missing word.
These examples are invitations, not a checklist children must have mastered by a certain birthday. I also work with beginners in this age range. We start from what your child understands and can comfortably try.
Try this at home: make a choice and explain it
- Offer two choices: a beach day or a mountain walk, a book or a film.
- Ask “Which do you prefer?” Let your child use a sentence beginning or look up one useful word.
- Ask one follow-up question. Share your own answer too, so it feels like a conversation rather than a test.
Ask your child what they would like to say more easily. Their answer can be more helpful than a long list of mistakes. You can share it with me before the introduction.
Which lesson format fits?
Standard lessons last one hour on Google Meet. Private lessons cost €80 for 8 hours. A group package costs €35 for 8 hours, with 3 to 5 children. These are not subscriptions: the eight hours are scheduled according to availability.
Questions before you book
My child understands English but avoids speaking. Can we start there?
Yes. Tell me when speaking feels difficult. I use patient, adapted conversation and activities, without expecting immediate or perfect answers.
Is grammar part of the work?
Language needs can come up during conversation and activities. I adapt explanations and practice to those needs rather than promise a fixed grammar syllabus.
Can a complete beginner join at this age?
Yes. The starting level is based on the child’s needs, not age alone.
